Today, on December 3rd, I received my WordPress Core Contributor badge — and it genuinely feels special.
After 16 years of building WordPress plugins, I only started contributing to Make WordPress this year. WordCamp Dhaka and Contributor Day finally pushed me into the Doc contribution, where I’ve been joining meetings and helping with triage, labeling, and testing issues across the Docs and Gutenberg repositories.
Today was a big milestone:
- I submitted couple of PRs for two different Core issues — my first Core patches.
- I was also listed as a Core Contributor to WordPress 6.9.
- And the Core Contributor badge appeared on my profile.
Feels good to finally be part of Core in a real way. More to come.
